Good morning!!! I am happy to announce I am typing this blog post from our new home right outside of Denver, Colorado and it's about 11:35 PM (I schedule our posts for Thursday mornings). And wow...has it ever been a BUSY couple of days. We moved in on Monday and the house is almost in order....Which I will definitely reference in the coming paragraphs!
SOOOO....did you like the song we picked for this weeks topic??? "Never Once" by Matt Redman! It is absolutely EXCELLENT! You can listen to it HERE if you didn't get a chance....HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
I just love this song and it has been some what of an ANTHEM for me over the past few months. And as I was singing it out loud while unpacking a couple of days ago....I caught myself asking this question: "so if we believe in God and everything He is and does for us....why do we feel sometimes like we are ALONE???"And in HIS still, small, and gentle voice, He simply said...................
"YOU are trying to CONTROL the SHOW and not allowing me to WORK"
This definitely hit me like a ton of bricks and I knew and KNOW that I MUST change this "CONTROL" issue that I have because it affects EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE!!! These last couple of days I have felt very in control with getting the house in order and making our new place a HOME, but have honestly been SUPER nasty and NEGATIVE to those that are closest to me(SO NOT FAIR TO THEM). And when God spoke those words to me, I was IMMEDIATELY CONVICTED!!
When we try and control what is happening in and around our lives we are not giving God the space to WORK in our lives and then we start looking at EVERYTHING through a jaded prospective and when our unrealistic expectations are not met, we get MAD and feel ALONE like God isn't coming through. Plus our attitudes can get yucky...And then it just keeps trickling down into the other areas of our lives.
HAS ANYONE FELT THIS SAME WAY??? Ok, maybe this is just for me, but anywho - God wants control and this song is a GREAT reminder that He is always with us and He is ALWAYS faithful...what in the heck do I really have to worry about??? Well...nothing except for ME!!!!!
Please visit beautiful Kim over at mauneyland.blogspot.com and read her post today on how the song spoke to her!
Also, please link up with us below. You can listen to the song and respond and if you have already heard the song, let us know how it spoke to you!
As for next week, I would like to pick a scripture in James 4 and it is just one verse - verse 10
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up"
This is a "life verse" for me and I feel like re-visiting and meditating on it this week! Sorry for being selfish, but I believe there is POWER and FREEDOM in this verse! Join us in memorizing this scripture and responding to how it spoke to you this week!
Brittany , i love to read your blogs, and see what god is doing, i know he's continuing to work in your lives as he is mine, hope to see you again in the future since we are on the same journey ..:)
