Reflections - WAIT = WORK

Acts 1:7-8

He told them, "You don't get to know the time.  Timing is the Father's business.  What you'll get is the Holy Spirit.  And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world."

Hello Beautiful BLOG LAND...so have you ever heard the phrase, "timing is EVERYTHING."  I'm sure you have probably heard that saying more than once before.  But what's funny to me about this saying is that I for so long believed that I WAS IN CONTROL of the timing!!!!

WRONG!!!!!

This scripture is VERY plain about explaining that timing is merely UP TO OUR FATHER!  And that my friends is one of the most freeing statements that I've come to terms with!  It has given me a freedom and a peace to fully understand that I do not have control over the timing of things and events in my life, BUT that my Heavenly Father sure has it under control!!

And then the scripture above in Acts goes on to say that even though timing is up to our Father, He has been so kind to give us the Holy Spirit.  I LOVE THIS!!! Our Father wants us to have the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us so that we can be the best witness for God that He intended for us to be.

In Holly Furtick's message, "If I have to wait, then I'll get to work" (you can listen and watch HERE if you didn't get a chance yet) she explains of the power that we have when we are in what seems like a "waiting period" to turn that waiting room into a "work room."  We are given that power by the Holy Spirit...when we invite Him to help guide and direct us He will show us how we can be His witnesses to others around us!  Which, if we remember, is what He created us for!!  I know it can be very tough to act upon this because let's be honest...most of the time our waiting rooms tend to be generated from a disappointment or hurt or even a frustration and those can be some of the toughest moments in our lives where we have to ask God how He wants to USE us! 

I'm determined to my CORE to live out this simple truth!  No matter what waiting room we are in...it doesn't have to be filled with yuckyness...IF WE ALLOW IT...it can ultimately be the ROOM that God uses to further us for HIS KINGDOM!!! And the very room that He uses to show Himself so faithful to us and remind us that HE IS IN CONTROL!!!  Xx
