Reflections - PRAY

HI!  Happy PRAYER THURSDAY!!!  I mean "blog Thursday." Kim over at mauneyland.blogspot.com picked our wonderful topic of prayer for this week.  Please jump on over there when you get a chance and read her thoughts!  You won't be disappointed, but rather "enlightened"

What comes to mind when you hear the word prayer?

Is it this:

Or is it this:

Ok, maybe BOTH....hA!  What does prayer look like and mean to me?  Well those are really good questions...that I'm still searching the answers for =)  But so far, I can share with you my journey and how prayer is a VITAL part of my life!  It has gone from "Lord please do this and please do that" to "Lord THANK YOU for who you are and all that you have done in my life already and for what you are going to continue to do through me"

Prayer to me is all about position - How am I and how are you positioning yourself with the Lord?  Is it from a place of "NEED" or a place of "THANKSGIVING" It's amazing the shift and freedom that take place when we take the position of gratitude with our prayers.

Over the last week I've been more conscious of my "prayer time" so to speak.  And lets just say...yeah...um...well....it's not been the most CONSISTENT recently?!?!  Can anyone else relate?  If I could just realize that when it is consistent, I'm not so thrown off course when something comes up that I wasn't expecting, or I'm more patient when the kids are acting up, or I'm more understanding when my husband is running later than expected....CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY!

“Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.”
~ Corrie ten Boom

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens.  This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live."

The amazing thing about our Heavenly Father, is that we don't have to be in a church pew praying for hours upon hours for our prayers to matter, we can simply BE WITH HIM wherever we are because He is with US ALL THE TIME!

PRAYER IS PRESENCE!  IT IS PRESENCE WITH HIM!
I NEED THAT and I WANT THAT!

I'm so thankful for Kim's topic to reflect on prayer this week!  It was in "DUE SEASON" for me and possibly for YOU too!  Please share your thoughts with us by linking up below.

As for the topic this next week...
I would like for us to listen to this podcast by Christine Caine.  It was recommended to me last week by a friend and I'm so thankful for the timely encouragement and challenge that came with me listening to it!  Enjoy this amazing woman of God...
