So, yesterday was "one of those Sunday's" for me...have you ever had those? I'm so thankful for a life-giving, challenging worship and message EVERY Sunday, but yesterday was super special. It all started in worship...have you ever heard that song "Victor's Crown" by Darlene Zschech? Well, if you haven't here you go :-)
After this worship song my FIL came up and spent a few more moments exalting the name of Jesus and encouraging us with the scripture in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 that speaks of our high things and strongholds being the thoughts that we have and our human reasoning. In this song it says "every high thing must come down, every stronghold shall be broken, you wear the Victors Crown, you have overcome." WOAH...this is GOOD STUFF....All we have to do is ENFORCE the victory that has already been WON in Jesus Name!!! And take captive every thought and make it align with God's word..THE END!
From this point in the service, let's just say it only got better. My FIL spoke part four of our Heaven's Culture series on having a "life giving" culture. Our culture in church should be FUN and full of life, encouragement, empowerment, and excitement. He shared the analogy about us going to a ball game and/or concert and being over the top excited and full of energy, but then when we show up to church we are quiet and reserved....IT. SHOULD. NOT. BE. THIS. WAY.
