Monday Commentary - The church just wants my money...

So, did that title get your attention???  :-)  It sure got mine...because that very statement made by FIL yesterday in church was followed by one of the most challenging statements I've heard based on our thoughts when it comes to generosity....So, often we think this:

"well the church just wants my money"....but that's not the case at all...the truth is this: 

"NO!  GOD JUST WANTS MY TRUST"

As Christians, we should be KNOWN for our generosity!  Not just in our giving of our resources, but also in the giving of our time, energy, effort, and attitude.  Generosity must be a HUGE deal to God...take a look at these numbers of how many times these topics appear in the Bible: 

246 - Faith

371 - Prayer

714 - Love

......OK are you ready for this.......

2,285 on giving - WOAH!!!!!! 

I'm certain, that if HE is that serious about giving, I must be also!  I'm learning over the course of time and as my relationship grows with the Lord that I can be pretty 'stinkin' selfish (hate to admit that, but unfortunately it's the truth) And I MUST CHANGE THAT!!!!
