We continued on with our series "In God We Trust." I really loved how my FIL reminded us of the 4 points about what it takes to build our trust:
1. Get to know Him
2. Stay convinced of God's love for us
3. Know and believe that God cannot lie
4. Understand that God always has our best interest at heart and is working on our behalf
We spent the remainder of our time together talking about TRUSTING and OBEYING!! He shared from the story in Genesis 22 of Abraham and Isaac. Such a POWERFUL story about our trust being built upon our obedience to do what God asks us to do. My favorite part of the whole morning was this point:
"Our trust is demonstrated by our willingness to obey Him without hesitation"
I was so challenged by this in that my personality wants to figure it all out and my FIL shared and challenged us that if we have to understand it all then we are not really trusting Him.....WOAH!!!!
