"Embrace me Father! I'm having such a hard time finding the passion to want to serve and be in relationship like you desire for me. Thank you in advance for clearing my path and revealing yourself to me. I trust you completely and know you have me right where you want me"
As I have been reflecting on these few sentences, it is very clear how selfish this is and honestly an "oxymoron" if you will....I mean in one sentence I am saying I don't have the passion to do what you called me to do and then right below that I am saying that I trust you completely....well if I really did trust Him completely, I would DIG in and PRESS forward with that....I mean COME ON BRITT - GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!! (sorry if you are offended, but sometimes that's how blatant God has to be with me)
I say all of that to say, "living it out" has NOTHING to do with us....we must CHOOSE to cooperate with His plan even if we don't like what it currently looks like....even if we don't feel DISCIPLINED enough to LOVE people when we are hurting ourselves...even if ------you insert your own struggles here-----
I (we) must come to place where I am fully surrendered to the Lord! I cannot compare myself with anyone else - God has designed each one of specifically to influence and impact the people in our worlds and some are for a season and others are for a lifetime!! I'd like to end my post today with something that I know came directly from HIM....it was on another page of a journal entry (I like to journal - you should try it if you don't) a few months ago...
"God - you are my gauge! You are who I live for! You make me new! You are pleased with me! You satisfy me! If only I can learn to measure up with you and not anyone else! And do everything as UNTO YOU"
I am challenged as I finish this post to continuing pressing in and serving and LOVING others in my life! When I keep my eyes fixed on Him....I am encouraged to STAY THE COURSE and COOPERATE with Him!!!
My friend Kim who we meet up with every thursday writes:
"As for next week, I'd hate to double up on a topic, but since we all just admitted that this is something we need to get better at, the challenge is to do another weekly update on your progress. Maybe we'll make this some sort of 21 day thing, since that's how long it takes to make something a habit. Put some of these new ideas and methods into place and see if that helps, and share with us on where you're at, what is working, and what is not working. I also do not want to post a deeper topic than this because I'm not 100% sure that I'll be blogging this week as we leave for vacation tomorrow (wooo-hooooo!). But I do promise to do my update when I get back if I don't get around to it this week. Cool?
As always, thanks for reading and sharing and for the encouragement and accountability. We rarely get comments on these things so I'm not sure if they bless you at all, but I can speak for Brittany when I say that we love coming together on Thursdays in this way. She's in Colorado and I'm in Kentucky, but we're sisters in Christ and the distance doesn't matter. Have a wonderful week of seeking, praying, and hopefully growing in Christ."
Also, head on over to mauneyland.blogspot.com and read Kim's thoughts!!! Let us know in a comment if this spoke to you in any way =) Xx
LOVE!! :) Finally got mine up for the week! YIKES! So glad we are revisiting next week! Love ya lady!
