My Anchor Holds Within the Veil - Reflections

"My anchor holds within the veil...."

Were you all able to listen to this amazing new song by Hillsong called "Cornerstone?"  It is by far one of my favorites!  And since I started running....this makes a GREAT running song =)

So as you might guess the part that sticks out to me most in the song is "my anchor holds within the veil"...this is such a silly thing, but I honestly at first was thinking well that is crazy because an anchor couldn't really be held inside a veil?  right??!  I mean did you think about that?? It would rip it wouldn't it???   .

Ok, so maybe that's just me and my silly thinking, but anywho....

Hebrews 6:19-20 NLT reads:
"This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.  It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary" WOW...what a great word picture this is...

So basically this line in the song has so much POWER and significance!  My "HOPE" (anchor) stands within the veil (God's inner sanctuary - where the impossible are made possible)

The previous verse in Hebrews 6:18 it says that "we, who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us"

I'm so IN LOVE with God!  Bottom line...He is so good to us!  I'm just so encouraged when there are songs out there like this to keep us lifted up.  Sometimes when we are facing a difficult situation or something is happening in our life and we have absolutely no idea why...maybe you are like me and it's not always the easiest to put a smile on our face and "consider it pure joy when we face trials."   But songs like this remind me more and more of who God is to us and what He stands for!

Our hope is in an UNCHANGING GOD!  Our anchor HOLDS within God's inner sanctuary where promises are fulfilled, dreams are realized, relationships are restored, LIFE is freely given...and the list goes on!

I hope you were encouraged by the song and if you didn't get a chance to listen to it...you can listen to it HERE you won't be disappointed!! =)  Have a great weekend.

Please head over to mauneyland.blogspot.com to hear my friend Kim's thoughts on the song!!! And you can also share your reflections with us below.

And as for next week....Kim writes:

For next week I'm going to put in a bit of a shameless plug and have us all watch a message by my personal favorite pastor, who I happen to be married to.  He delivered a slammin' message last weekend, which I think is worth sharing.  And for those of you readers who were actually there to hear it, perhaps you can share your reflections on it in my comments section next week.  Cool?  You can listen to it online HERE
