So, were you blessed or what by that amazing read that Kim picked last week?!? Wow - I definitely love Priscilla Shirer and her team at Going Beyond Ministries. Those words were literally jumping off the page at me and if you didn't get a chance to read it you can read it HERE
Anywho...as I was reflecting on this article I couldn't help but be a bit convicted of the "need you now" syndrome! And like Kim challenged us last week, I have been looking back at the NUMEROUS times that God has come through on my behalf...most often when I least expected it! He is so good to us...if we can only learn to just TRUST Him through it all! The good, the bad, the mountains, the valleys, the fruitful, the barren...through it ALL - He simply asks us to stay focused on HIM and keep pushing through!
And with that "pushing through" mentality, I had the wonderful opportunity this week to help my 4 year old learn to ride without training wheels...he was so darn excited and cute! He did awesome and it only took him a couple of times before he could ride without me holding the back of the seat...here he is...
Adorable isn't he?!?! So, do you remember when you first learned to ride a bike?? I definitely remember and I remember that I was so darn excited that it did NOT matter how many times I fell I WAS going to CONQUER and master the skill of bike riding...DETERMINATION to get back up and keep going!! And, do you remember that the hardest part wasn't necessarily riding, but rather getting on and getting started...I found myself REPEATEDLY saying to Lyrik "push hard and pedal, push hard and pedal, push hard and pedal" After awhile he finally got it and was even repeating those same words...LOL...I find this to be so true in our own lives...the hard part is not the riding, but rather the pushing through and pedaling, when we feel like God is NO WHERE NEAR, but you know what?? His word says that He NEVER leaves us and His word also says that as we draw near to Him He will draw near to us! I LOVE THIS!!! I firmly believe that in these moments when we've had about enough and can't seem to go on any further that He would say to us..."push on and pedal" KEEP DRAWING UNTO ME!!!
We know how the story ends, and we know that we are victorious in Him! So I'm determined to set my mind on that...knowing that HE ALWAYS PULLS THROUGH for me!!! If you are discouraged or facing a tough situation, I encourage you to keep on pushing through! Get back on track....push hard and pedal! Our GOD IS ABLE and FAITHFUL!!!
Kim, who I referenced above, has also put her thoughts down in regards to this same blog read! You can read her thoughts HERE ..
We would love to hear from YOU as well...so link up if you have a blog or leave a comment so we can encourage one another with our perspectives!
As for next week, I'd like to listen to a message from Holly Furtick. Her husband is Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. She opened up there current series called "Waiting Room" with an UNBELIEVABLY TIMELY MESSAGE!! You can listen and watch at this link below...
