Which hat do you have on???

So I have come to the realization that we all have different hats we wear on a daily basis and even a moment by moment basis....it might be a "mom" hat, a "dad" hat, a "boss" hat, an "employee" hat, a "spouse" hat, a "friend" hat, a "leader" hat - whichever hat it is God has given us the authority to walk in that role and serve WHERE WE ARE!

Quite a few years ago when we were at Hillsong studying I was really battling with the fact that I was "just a mom" and here recently that statement was made by my one and only 6 year old son Max....LOL....I was able to laugh it off this time around =) Because you know what?...to him,
I AM just a mom

Kids can often give us such a clear perspective....I was able to laugh it off this time because I am so fortunate that God has brought us to a place where I can focus on our family and be a "stay at home mom" Although there are definitely some days when I wish I could drop them off at the babysitter and go to work....haha.....and if you ever want to doubt that, please come spend a day with our middle son Lyrik!

No, in all seriousness, through the different "roles" that we are given at different seasons in our life God is asking us to SERVE and LOVE people from right where we are! Remember the "parable of the talents" in Matthew 25: 14-30...The one servant was given "5 talents" and the other was given "2 talents" and the other was given "1 talent" = bottom line - we all have different gifts and abilities, but we are ACCOUNTABLE for what we do with them and how we use them....are you going to dig your "just a mom" role INTO THE GROUND??? and not use it so that God is glorified and a harvest is reaped?

I don't EVER want to be at a place where I am foolishly taking what God has given me and digging it so far into the ground that I cannot be used by HIM to fulfill the work He has CALLED me TO DO!

Wherever you are at, whatever season of life you are in, whatever hat you are wearing - use it to the FULLEST!!!! Remember V29: "to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away."
