"Refine me Lord through the flame" - WOW!!! Those words ring so true in my own personal life and walk with God. And so often that is my prayer when I am facing difficult situations or circumstances.
Did you know that the definition of refine is 'to purify what is coarse, vulgar, or debasing; make elegant or cultured.' So what that says to me in the context of those words "refine me Lord through the flame," is that when we are walking through the flames of life - hardship in relationships, finances, and life situations - God wants and is trying to PURIFY and REFINE us through it all!! He wants us to learn how to LEAN into Him and TRUST that He is working all things out for OUR GOOD!!
1 Peter 1:7 says,
"These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."
I'm so encouraged that He is ALWAYS working on my behalf and that when I'm in the midst of being refined I can stand firm knowing that I can be filled on His promise. His promise to always pull through for the GOOD. It allows me to understand the process better and know that He is making me more like Him!
This amazing song resounds with what it truly means to PRAISE Him despite where we are or what season of life we are going through. He is worthy to be praised and it is our obedience to praise Him through EVERY single season that builds our faith. And its our praise that GLORIFIES Him and MAGNIFIES Him above whatever we are facing!
So the BOTTOM LINE - I love this SONG and it is a CONSTANT reminder of God's faithfulness!!!

As for next weeks "ASSIGNMENT"I am going to be studying in James chapter 1. I love the book of James because of its practical application and insight into how we can better bring glory and honor to God through our Faith and Love for HIM! I'm excited to get back into it by starting in chapter 1! Can't wait to hear what God speaks to you through this study.
