This is a picture of Colossae.  The city that the book of Colossians is based from.




A little while back I was going through the book of Colossians and I did a quick google search on the city and interstingly enough I found out that at one time this was a VERY important city because it was located on the trade route, but then the main road was changed!!! And the other two nearest cities grew more important and surpassed Colossae in wealth and prestige.  Colossae declined to a small village, BUT retained its frame because of the popular "wool" trade. 

Have you ever felt in your life that the "main road" changed??  That your life was no longer headed toward the destiny that God designed for you??  That you were now insignificant because someone else was receiving what you perceived as YOUR wealth??

In my own life I have definitely asked these questions.  And although those can be very tough questions, THERE IS HOPE!! You know, God still has a purpose for your life and one that RETAINS its FRAME because of WHO HE IS!!!! 

Paul tells the people of Colossae in Colossians 2:7
"Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him.  Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness"

When we ROOT ourselves in God and His word, we can be sure that our faith will grow so that when those questions arise and we feel like we are off track we know that GOD is in control and is our SUSTAINER!!!  Stay encouraged in WHO HE IS!
