Dig up some wells!

That sounds like some TOUGH work....digging up wells that have been filled up with dirt would NOT be a fun task (just my personal opinion, but I can't see that being very fun at all)  I will come back to this thought....

You know, JOY is not happiness because of what we have or what we don't have, what our circumstances are or what they are not.  It is not at all related to material EARTHLY matters.  

Joy by definition is "the expression or manifestation of such feeling" I'd like to say that I knew exactly what the definition of "manifestation" was - BUT I did not so I looked that up as well....ha! It simply means "the act of demonstrating" I know we have all heard this at some point or another and our Bible says our JOY comes FROM THE LORD and the Lord is good, perfect, peaceful, merciful,gracious to the FULL (basically He ROCKS - because He is exactly whatever we need Him to be) Our amazing FATHER IS JOY because He CANNOT be anything else!!! 

SO, our joy comes from a place of rest and surrender in who HE is!  And an 'ACT of demonstrating' everything He represents.  An 'ACT' means WE HAVE A CHOICE!

Back to the well - 

Genesis 26:18 - Isaac dug again the wells of water which had been dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham...

These wells were wells that had been stopped up by their enemies...the very name Isaac means "laughter"  Something that spoke to me in this story is that laughter and JOY in the Holy Spirit will open the deep wells of life inside of us - wells that may have been stopped up by the enemy through depression, discouragement, disappointment, or doubt.  

The very act of demonstrating JOY in our life means that we MAKE THE CHOICE to surrender and yield to HIM and and His spirit that is FULL of JOY and let it OVERTAKE us - that will SURELY make the "digging of the well" MUCH EASIER!!!!!
